Last month was a whirlwind of art both at the studio and off-site - I just counted all of the events/classes for April and it was 27 - Phew! April was Arts, Culture, and Creativity month, so pretty fitting. Niles Elementary kids had a blast on their field trips to the studio - we had 15 classes create clay art and it took 3 kiln loads to fire them all! I also helped the Centerville Library hold their 50th birthday 70s style (we created pet rocks), and hosted a fun homeschooling group clay class. I had a piece of my own Spiral Art displayed at the Olive Hyde Art Gallery - there’s a fabulous exhibit by local artists running until May 23 - go check it out. I’ve been a part of the Fremont Creates group that supports the Arts in Fremont - we had an awesome yarnbombing installation in Fremont - did you see any by the main library or BART? We also held an Art Pop-up and Maker Space last weekend that I participated in.
I’ll have to say my favorite class this month was teaching my favorite 8th grade teacher and her granddaughter how to throw pottery - full circle moment! May is looking pretty busy as the school year draws to a close and Summer Camps are getting close to starting.
We have Drop-in space for our After School Art for kids the next 3 Fridays, Kids Night out is May 2 (making a Mother’s Day project), from 4 - 7 pm, Open Studio is May 9, from 2-5 pm, and Adult Art Night is May 30th, from 6-7:30 (making clay coiled pots).

1.) FRIDAYS, April 10 - May 1, 2026 (3:30-4:30) - Drop-in space available for the last 3 Fridays
-Kids Night Out is 5/2/26 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm- Drop off your kiddos for a fun art night with pizza and a movie. Parents - go have a night off! We’re making Mother's Day Art.
- Open Studio Event is May 9 from 2-5 pm -Studio is Open for you to check out and Maker Space is Open to create. Bring your friends for a fun afternoon of creating - Maybe you can create something for your mom’s since the following day is Mother’s Day!
- Adult Art Night is 5/30/26 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm - Adults need art in their lives too - come create with me - bring a date or make it a fun friends night out! We’re making clay coiled pots.
